This small, urban garden in the front and back yard is a blend of native and, mostly edible, introduced species. A “bit of a jungle,” this space is both an experimental garden, as Sundaura observes how various native species adapt to urban settings, and a habitat for an increasing number of pollinators, especially native bumblebees.

Sundaura will be present to speak about how the garden has transitioned from conventional landscaping species to native plants, what she learned from them about their need to grow in communities of species, and to answer questions about the plants, their personalities, and the care that they do, or don’t, require in urban settings.

Bee researcher, Gil F.G. Miranda, will also be on hand to identify pollinators and answer questions about their habits and needs.
