This pollinator garden consists of 200 plants representing 20 native species. It has an irregular polygon shape and covers a gently rising berm. It is situated parallel to both the nearby roadway and the paved pedestrian path that bisects the park. A sign placed in the garden provides a QR code for anyone interested in learning more about the plants.
Jack Wilson of the Nepean Horticultural Society will be on hand to answer questions about establishing a pollinator garden in a public park – ask him about permissions, challenges, volunteers, and maintenance.
