A guided tour of Churchill Alternative P.S. pollinator garden to learn about native plants and pollinator habitat

This four-year-old butterfly garden includes native flowers from spring to fall and pollinator-friendly annuals. For the most part, the garden has thrived – despite pandemic restrictions that prevented garden maintenance and a few summers with dry conditions and no supplemental watering. New native plants were added to fill gaps, and a second school pollinator garden is in the works. Stacey Whitney, the teacher overseeing the school garden will be available to answer questions, along with Berit Erickson, a former Churchill parent who helps with the garden.
