A guided tour of the much-loved garden that attracts a variety of pollinators
In its sixth year, this garden is an act of restorative kindness and a certified Monarch Butterfly Waystation. It is a much-loved community hub, attracting pollinators and various audiences – from a partnership with the adjacent elementary school to the wider community. It has been painted by an artist and the focus for classes in artwork, ecology, science and conservation. The Garden gives seeds away for school and community projects to build their gardens or meadows. Additionally, park people are always offered a mini-lesson on how pollinators are at risk and the simple things they can do to help too! Moreover, our new city-funded project involves a nearby berm for a naturalization make-over of native plants, expected to begin in 2023.
