While some of us are looking in vain for bees in our backyards – because of the slow start to spring – Berit Erickson writes about the leafcutters she is finding working and living in her Corner Pollinator Garden in west end Ottawa.

She’s written a well researched description of the behaviour and habits of these bees and included videos of them in action. Well worth the read: Busy leafcutter bees

Leafcutter bees have been busy cutting pieces from fireweed and lilac leaves in our back garden. Photo and text from Berit Erickson (July 2019).
